On-going readings are CRUCIAL to understand moisture levels in buildings - as moisture levels can vary SIGNIFICANTLY between seasons and wet weather cycles. The level of monitoring your home needs will depend on your circumstance. For instance if your home is undergoing maintenance and repairs, readings before and after repairs are carried out are important to assess that the maintenance carried out was successful. MDC recommends regular moisture readings.
If there is no activity, on-going monitoring will highlight any areas requiring maintenance in the future - so you can find and fix leaks before damage gets caused. It will also provide an excellent record of the house's moisture levels over time - which will have considerable value when you sell your home. |
