Mdu Wire Loom

This patented device is the acclaimed predecessor to the Mdu Probe. Like the probe, it provides a highly accurate and permanent indication of moisture readings in walls and other hard-to-reach areas. Architects appreciate the early readings obtained from the wire loom in incomplete buildings, while builders are still on site.

The wire loom is used in situations where it can be installed, during construction, to provide accurate readings from behind kitchen, bathroom and laundry tiles and cupboards – three areas of large-scale building failure, not covered by the Weathertightness Homes Resolution Service legislation. These are typical areas where it is either difficult to install Mdu Probes after construction is complete, or to limit the use of externally mounted Mdu Probes.

Every kitchen, bathroom and laundry and hard-to-reach area, such as a covered patio (especially at risk points between the floor covering and the Butynol-covered timber base) should have a wire loom installed during construction.
